our mission
Project Rezi is dedicated to addressing the housing crisis in Indian Country by developing 10,000 housing units. This initiative is exclusively for Indigenous/Native American participants, aiming to empower Tribal communities through real-world, hands-on real estate development experience.
We work collaboratively with Tribal Nations to create educational cohorts where participants learn to design, finance, and build multifamily housing that directly serves their communities. Our goal is to construct not just housing, but vibrant, sustainable communities that honor and preserve Tribal sovereignty, cultural integrity, and Indigenous values.
Through this cohort-based approach, participants will gain the skills needed to lead transformative housing projects that reflect the needs, traditions, and aspirations of their Tribal communities.
how it works
Each participant will pitch a project on Tribal lands, and the cohort will collectively select the site that becomes the focus for development. The program is structured over two years, with the first 12 months dedicated to learning the fundamentals of real estate development and the pre-construction process. During this phase, participants will dive into key topics such as market analysis, site selection, cost estimation, pro forma development, financing, and project management. Monthly deliverables will help participants build a detailed pro forma and comprehensive business plan for a 2–4-unit multifamily building.
In the second 12 months, the program shifts to hands-on development, focusing on the construction phase of the project. Participants will move from planning to execution, working collaboratively to finance, build, and oversee the development. The ownership structure of the project will be decided collectively, taking into account Tribal laws, financial resources, and other relevant factors to ensure a culturally and economically sustainable outcome.
